BESTARI ITE or bITE is a school social work programme tailored specifically for ALL students from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE). It encompasses activities that includes interactive group work sessions, workshops, casework & counselling, public education talks, focus group discussions, team building activities, mentoring scheme, creative thinking programmes, entrepreneurial thinking programmes, community service projects and service learning programmes.
bITE aims to provide a holistic service to the ITE students and create more opportunity for all students to develop, grow and inculcate values such as lifelong and independent learning, have an entrepreneurial mindset and give back and share with the community. For more than 10 years, Project bITE has reached out and benefited more than 24,000 students.
Here are the few programme and target group under the bITE umbrella:-
- Project GEMS whom focused on the grooming and leadership development of 50 ITE students
- FRENZ Mentoring Programme focus on at-risk youth from ITE. In all, the programme has benefitted more than 560 students from College East, College Central & College West.
- Bestari Club represents the past recipients of Bestari Award, whom will be empowered to co-organise 4PM projects . Annually, 4PM awards top 45 Malay/Muslim ITE students whom have performed exceptionally well academically and in co-curricular activities.
- Remaja Resilien is a program that caters to mainstream youths who would like to be engaged in meaningful activities. Primarily, this programme focuses on building resiliency through the concept of Positive Youth Development (PYD).
If you love to be a friend, role model and mentor to your fellow friends and students, we need you as volunteers. You will be trained and briefed on how to provide positive interpersonal relations with your peers.
